Hi, I am Frances Anderton.

I tell stories and distill ideas -- mostly about design, architecture and the cityscape of Los Angeles, but also about life and culture in general.

My goal is to create connection, through media and through helping shape the built environment.

To that end, I write and edit for radio and print; I produce and host podcasts; I teach; I curate live events and exhibitions; and I lead public discussions.

Currently I am writing a book about multifamily housing in Los Angeles, and working with Helms Bakery District on design-related programming. I just completed production of Wasted: Neat Solutions to the Dirty Problem of Waste. This radio series launched January 12 and airs for nine weeks on KCRW’s Greater LA.
